The Showcase house has resumed since the relaxing of construction guidelines by the City of San Francisco three weeks ago.  Currently, we continue to follow guidelines recommended by the CDC and the San Francisco Department of Public Health as we plan for the possible opening of Showcase for in-person tours.  Showcase will launch its first-ever virtual tour on August 29, 2020 and, if conditions allow, in-person tours August 29 – September 27, 2020.

The virtual tour being produced will consist of both a walk-through video and an interactive 3D self-guided tour.  This tour experience will be available for purchase via the Showcase website beginning August 29th. 

If we are permitted to open Showcase for in-person tours, the house will be open 7 days per week from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (last entry).  We will be taking all precautions needed to make the environment safe (including requiring masks) per the health guidelines in effect at the time. 

Check back later this summer for more information about the Showcase virtual tour and ticket sales for in-person tours in the event the house is allowed to open.

EXHIBITION: "Material Matters"
Seager Gray Gallery presents the sixth annual Material Matters exhibition, spotlighting artists who work with materials, often pushing boundaries and demonstrating the fascinating variety of artistic expression. This year’s exhibition features 21 artists working in paint, wood, weaving, cast glycerin, vintage typewriter, encaustic, thread, shredded money, cast glass, aquatint, wire, book boards, bronze, aluminum, calligraphy, gel medium and granite. Artists include Wolfgang Bloch, Joe Brubaker, Ryan Bucko, Lia Cook, Jake Couri, Daniella Dooling, David French, Elizabeth Harris, Nicole Havekost, Lisa Kokin, Nancy Legge, Hung Liu, Jann Nunn, Emily Payne, Ross Richmond, Jane Rosen, Liz Steketee, Tim Tate, Larry Thomas, Sanjay Vora and Deloss Webber.

EXHIBITION: "All in the Family"
Every year in January, Seager Gray Gallery mounts an exhibition that allows them to pull out favorite works from their extensive inventory. They try to present as broad a range as possible. It is a great time to get a sampling of the program, but also an opportunity to experience some gems from their collection. The fun is in the installation - finding ways that different works relate to each other in space and how a variety of works can speak to each other in unexpected ways. ROBERT-JEAN RAY
Ray’s goal is to merge linear depictions of the human with collage compositions inspired by urban street graphics. Influenced by early German and Italian expressionism, his work consists primarily of diminutively-sized artwork with strong visual impact.

RYAN BUCKO
Bucko’s work explores the juxtaposition between abstract and architecture. In the pursuit of reducing geometry and abstraction to their purest forms, his fusing of two aesthetics continues to evolve. The structured line hovers over the nonobjective, creating a third dimension that shifts in relation to light and the viewer’s perception.
