“SHIFTING PERSPECTIVES” | menlo park, ca
on exhibition
Accepted into the 2021 Silicon Valley Sculpture Exhibition, this piece is derived from a new body of work inspired by the human figures found within architectural renderings. The sculpture is over 10 ft. in height and the figurative shapes are cut from aluminum plate and attached to a self-supporting steel base. A light source located within the interior of the base illuminates the figures from the inside.

This 15’ sculpture is an abstraction and extrapolation of a watch dial. The hands of the dial are mounted to a three-dimensional helix which creates a sense of movement as the viewer moves around the sculpture. The site orientation will appear highly abstract from all angles except from the vantage point of the owner, which will reveal the watch face alignment.

MOBITECTURE™
Mobitecture™ mobiles celebrate the geometric forms within architecture and then set them into motion. These geometric forms, made from folded paper, are mounted on a shared fulcrum and patented counter-balancing system. As the forms orbit, the sculpture “explodes” into its geometric components providing a new perspective of the architecture and geometry within these iconic buildings.
Mobitecture™ is currently under development, but if you are interested in updates then please email or subscribe to the mailing list.
